Sugared Cranberries

A festive addition to any dessert or cocktail, Sugared Cranberries are sweet, tart, ruby red and adds a touch of sparkle.  



1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Cup Water
2 Cups Fresh Cranberries

1 Cup Granulated Sugar for Coating


  1. In a medium sauce pan, combine the granulated sugar and water and bring to a boil and continue boiling until the sugar is dissolved
  2. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and pour the fresh cranberries into the syrup
  3. Let the cranberries sit in the syrup for 10 minutes to allow them to absorb the syrup
  4. Strain the cranberries from the syrup and place them on a baking sheet in a single layer
  5. While the cranberries are sticky, dredge them in granulated sugar and place them onto a clean baking sheet to dry
  6. Allow the sugared cranberries to dry for 10 minutes before using
