Ingredients

Spiced Gingerbread Loaf

  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • ¼ Cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Ginger
  • 2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • ½ Teaspoon Allspice
  • ¼ Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • ¼ Teaspoon Salt
  • ½ Cup Unsalted Butter Melted
  • ¾ Cup Molasses
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Vanilla Bean Glaze

  • 1 ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1-2 Tablespoon Whole Milk
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste
  • Garnish: Fresh Cranberries and Sage Leaves

Instructions

Prepare the Spiced Gingerbread Loaf

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, light brown sugar, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and salt; whisk to combine
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, molasses, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla extract until combined
  • Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until fully combined
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean
  • Allow the bread to cool completely before removing the bread from the pan

Prepare the Vanilla Bean Glaze

  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla bean paste until it is smooth and creamy
  • Spread or drizzle the glaze on the top Gingerbread Loaf
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries and a sage leaf
  • Allow the glaze to set before slicing and serving
