Ingredients

Basil Pesto Sauce

  • 2 Cups Fresh Basil
  • ¼ Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons Pine Nuts
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Basil Pesto Pasta

  • 1 Recipe Basil Pesto Sauce
  • 1 Pound Pasta
  • 1 Cup Pasta Water
  • Garnish: Parmesan Cheese and Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

Prepare the Basil Pesto Sauce

  • In a small food processor or blender, combine the basil, parmesan cheese, pine nuts, garlic cloves, lemon juice, salt, pepper and oliver oil and pulse until smooth and creamy; set aside until ready to use.

Boil the Pasta

  • In salted boiling water, pour the pasta into the pot and cook until done. Before draining the pasta, save one cup of the pasta water and set aside. Drain the pasta, pour into a serving bowl.

Assemble the Basil Pesto Pasta

  • Once the cooked pasta is in the serving bowl, pour the pesto sauce over the pasta and pour the pasta water over the pesto sauce. Stir the pasta until all noodles are fully coated in pesto sauce and green.

Serve and Enjoy!

  • Serve the Pesto Pasta immediately. Garnish each dish with parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes!
