Homemade popsicles are a fun addition to your freezer that you and your kids can make and enjoy together.  We all love waking up with our favorite Tropical Avocado Smoothie but why not sweeten things up a bit with a smoothie popsicle that feels like dessert but can be enjoyed for breakfast! These Strawberry Banana Smoothie Popsicles were created as a healthy snack made with only fresh fruit, honey, milk and greek yogurt, these popsicles are the same as enjoying a fresh smoothie, but frozen! banana, strawberries, raspberries, honey and sugar measured out next to the blender

    Ingredients

Fresh Fruit-Using three of our favorite fruit options for smoothies; strawberries, bananas and recipes add a sweet and creamy texture that your kids will love.
Honey-No added sugar is the best part of these popsicles, sweetened with natural honey adds the perfect balance to the fresh fruit.
Greek Yogurt-Added protein and probiotics, greek yogurt turns these popsicles from dessert to breakfast.
Milk- Use your choice of milk; cows milk, almond milk or oat milk are all great options.

    Expert Tips and FAQ's

    • I like using fresh fruit for this recipe, but you can always use frozen fruit.  Using frozen fruit might cause the popsicles to be a little more icy then creamy, but they will still taste delicious!
    • There are a lot of different popsicles molds, but if you don't have a popsicle mold you can use small cups instead
    • Need more veggies in your life?  Adding a hand full of spinach to this Strawberry Banana Smoothie Popsicle is a great addition and will not add any flavor, just more vitamins!
    • This is a great recipe for your kids to help out with.  Mine love to make smoothies and now they are obsessed with making their own popsicles.
    • If you prefer a dairy free option, replace the cows milk with almond or oat milk and use a dairy free yogurt substitute.

    How Long To Freeze Popsicles?
Homemade popsicles usually take about 6-8 hours to freeze completely, but I like to make them the day before so that I am 100% sure they will be ready when I need them.

    How To Unmold Frozen Popsicles?
Once the popsicles are made and in the freezer, the next question is how to I get the popsicles out of the mold.  While it is super simple, there is a trick that makes it even easier.  Once the popsicles are frozen, run hot water on the popsicle mold for a few seconds, but make sure that the water does not get into the mold and touch the popsicles.  Gently pull on the stick and the popsicle should slide right out.  This process can be repeated if it doesn't come out easily the first time, just be sure you don't completely melt the popsicle!
