Breakfast, lunch or snack, we are always in the mood for a delicious smoothie that also keeps us full. There are so many great smoothies, but the key to the best is that it is loaded with protein and vitamins that will benefit us in just a few sips.

Dragon Fruit Strawberry Smoothie is the most flavorful smoothie with a subtle sweet finish, but also loaded with healthy benefits. Dragon Fruit is a great source of fiber as well as other vitamins and minerals. Protein can be added through your favorite protein powder and one ingredient that is small in size but adds a big benefit is chia seeds. Adding one tablespoon of chia seeds will keep you full longer and if also a great source of fiber.

If you love smoothies as much as we do you much try our Blueberry Protein Smoothie or the best Vitamin C Immunity Smoothie.

    Ingredient Notes

Dragon Fruit- Tropical and exotic fruit that is a beautiful magenta color and sometimes white. This fruit adds the perfect amount of sweetness to your drink or smoothie. Make sure to use frozen dragon fruit for this recipe.

Strawberries-You can use frozen or fresh strawberries which pairs so well with the light sweetness of the dragon fruit.

Mango-Frozen mango chunks will play into the tropical flavor of this smoothie. If you don't have frozen mango you can replace it for frozen pineapple.

Banana-Fresh bananas will give this smoothie the creamy texture
Protein Powder- Choose your favorite protein powder and add the serving suggestion to the smoothie.

Protein Powder- This is personal preference, but make sure to find one that is clean in ingredients and low in added sugar. My favorite is this Rootz Protein Powder.

Chia Seeds - A great source of protein and fiber, you can never go wrong by adding this ingredient to your smoothie.

Dairy Free Milk-So many milk options, almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, soy milk or cows milk would work great for this smoothie.

    What is Dragon Fruit?

Dragon Fruit, also known as Pitaya, is a unique tropical looking fruit that only can be found in specialty markets, but frozen dragon fruit cubes are found much easier and makes the perfect smoothie. Dragon Fruit can be found in two colors, a white center or a vibrant magenta colored center. This fruit has a very mild and sweet flavor is loaded with fiber, vitamins and minerals and is a great addition to your smoothie for the flavor and nutrients.

Expert Tips and FAQS To Make A Great Smoothie

    Milk Options
The best part about smoothies is you can easily adjust to your liking. I love almond milk or coconut milk for this smoothie but oat milk is also a great option.

    Use A High Power Blender
When making a smoothie using a good quality blender that is powerful is important to prepare a great smoothie.

    Storing and Freezing A Smoothie
Most smoothies are enjoyed right after they are made, but I do make smoothies in advance and pour them into the glass with lid and store it in the freezer until ready to enjoy it! I also love having them ready for a healthy carpool snack.

Can I Make This Smoothie In Advance?

Yes! I love making a batch of smoothie and divide it up into glasses with lids and freeze the smoothie until ready to enjoy! You can also divide up all the fruit and ingredients into zip loc baggies and then when you are ready dump it all into a blender and add the almond milk.

Are There Any Veggies I Can Add To This Smoothie?

Absolutely! I always keep spinach on hand because that is a great addition to any smoothie for a boost of leafy greens. Kale is also another great option.

      5 stars
I tried it with a little change to the recipe and it came out amazing! I didn't have any mangoes or almond milk so I used the biggest banana I had and ½ cup of whole milk instead. The smell is a bit funky because of the protein and dragonfruit I believe but the taste meet my expectations 🙂
