    Whipped Cream Cheese
    Using whipped cream cheese gives the dip the lightest, fluffiest texture. You can whip a regular block of cream cheese with a mixer if needed but the pre-whipped version makes this recipe incredibly simple.

    Smoked Salmon
    Look for high quality smoked salmon for the best flavor and silky texture. Chop it so you a get salmon in each bite.

    Fresh Chives
    Chives add a milk onion flavor without overpowering the dip. Fresh is best for a bright flavor and color.

    Shallots
    Finely minced shallots add subtle sweetness and depth. If you don't have a shallot you can substitute for a red onion.

    Capers
    Capers bring the perfect briny bite to balance the richness of the cream cheese and salmon.

    Fresh Lemon Zest
    Do not skip this!!! Lemon zest brightens the entire dip and makes all the flavors pop.

    How to Make Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Dip

    Step 1: Prepare the ingredients
    Finely chop the smoked salmon, chives and shallots and zest the lemon. Set everything aside

    Step 2: Mix the whipped cream cheese
    In a small bowl combine the cream cheese, garlic powder, 1 tablespoon lemon zest and 1 tablespoon chives and mix to combine.

    Step 3: Spread and Top
    Spread the cream cheese mixture onto the serving platter to a thin layer. Top the cream cheese with the smoked salmon, chopped shallots, capers, 1 tablespoon chives and 1 tablespoon lemon zest. Finish with a sprinkle of course sea salt.

    Step 5: Chill and Serve
    For the best flavor, refrigerate for 20-30 minutes. You can also serve immediately!

    Ingredients

    • 4 Ounces Smoked Salmon, Chopped
    • 8 ounces Whipped Cream Cheese
    • ½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Chives, Chopped divided
    • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Zest divided
    • 2 Tablespoon Fresh Shallots, Chopped
    • 2 Tablespoon Capers
    • Garnish: Course Sea Salt

    Instructions

    Prepare the Ingredients

    • Finely chop the smoked salmon, chives and shallots. Zest the lemon and set aside.

    Mix the Whipped Cream Cheese

    • In a small bowl mix together the whipped cream cheese, garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of chopped chives and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest.
    • Spread the cream cheese mixture in a thin layer to cover serving platter

    Garnish

    • Add the chopped smoked salmon to the top of the cream cheese spread and then continue to add the chopped shallots, capers, 1 tablespoon chopped chives and 1 tablespoon lemon zest. Finish with a sprinkle of course sea salt.

    Chill and Serve
