My absolute favorite time of year is right around the corner but there is so much still to enjoy about the warmer months and the end of a fun filled summer. A Classic Italian Aperol Spritz is a warm weather favorite, but I must say, I love bringing this into my early fall tables and enjoying the bubbly flavor paired with the slightly bitter sweet Aperol. Creating an Italian inspired table will always require a Classic Aperol Spritz to make you feel right at home. If you are in full fall mode, this Apple Cider Aperol Spritz is the way to go.

I loved creating this beautiful table with Meaghan Cody from Everyday Tables. As I am preparing to entertain I always start with the menu and theme, create a signature cocktail for the evening and make sure every details from the plates, napkin and flowers are on point. The finale will always end with a delicious dessert and heading into early fall, desserts don't always have to be pumpkin or spice, but traditional homemade desserts like a Classic Tiramisu or a traditional Vanilla Bean Créme Brûlée are perfect desserts to end the night.

    Something Savory

An easy appetizer that we are loving is a Fig and Olive Board. The salty sweet combination of the figs, olives, cheese, honey and prosciutto is a must to celebrate the arrival of fall and cooler temperatures.

    What You Need:

    Fresh Figs
    Assorted Marinated Olives
    White Cheddar Cheese
    Sliced Prosciutto
    Drizzle of Honey
    Toasted Baguette

A table full of flowers, plates, tiramisu and cocktails.

    Setting The Table

As we are approaching fall but still graced with warmer weather, a light and airy table is a great way to make this transition. Adding fall colors in the plates, paired with natural linen table runners, napkins and black flatware are a beautiful combination to bring in the season. Florals can be more natural and leafy using olive branches for a fun and whimsical center piece.

    What Is A Spritz

A classic spritz is made with three ingredients, sparkling wine, an aperitif and a splash of sparking water or soda. There are many different versions of a spritz and the flavor profile can change whether you are using Prosecco or champagne and what type of aperitif, but the this cocktail will always be a light and refreshing drink that is made with bubbles and bitters (aperitif).

What is an Aperitif or Aperol

Aperol is a type of aperitif! There are several popular aperitifs that are commonly used in an Italian Spritz, but these will all vary in bitterness. The least bitter and tends to be the most popular is Aperol. It is going to give you a very smooth spritz that can be sipped on without an extremely bitter flavor. Campari is another aperitif that is known to be more bitter than Aperol and also has a higher alcohol level. I prefer to stick with Aperol because it has a smooth finish and easy to drink!
