A classic and old fashioned cocktail from the 1930's that was origionally made with gin, but has because popular with gin or vodka. This cocktail traditionally only had three ingredients, gin or vodka, lime juice and simple syrup.
Ingredient Notes
Cucumber Vodka-The best part about this cocktail is the Western Son Cucumber Vodka! This vodka has a natural refreshing flavor of cucumber. If you can't find or purchase cucumber vodka, you can alway muddle cucumber into the cocktail shaker to release the flavor and juices before shaking and pouring.
Lime Juice-Fresh squeezed lime juice is the best option! I would not recommend using bottle lime juice that might have other ingredients in it.
Simple Syrup- Two simple ingredients that is a staple in your refrigerator if you love making scratch cocktails. Sugar and water boiled together will create the perfect syrup for your favorite drinks.
Garnish- I love adding a fresh sprig of mint and a sliced cucumber to this cocktail for a fresh and earthy flavor.
Step by Step Directions
Measure all your ingredients, Cucumber Vodka, lime juice and simple syrup and combine them a cocktail shaker that is filled with ice.
Shake until the cocktail is fully combined and chilled! I love allowing a little bit of the ice to melt into the cocktail before straining and pouring.
Pour the Cucumber Gimlet into your favorite glass, garnish with fresh mint and a cucumber slice.
If you like a little bubbly, add a splash of sparkling water to finish off the drink and enjoy!
