Soft, chewy, sugar coated and kissed with chocolate, Molasses Blossom Cookies are a holiday treat all will enjoy! It is December 1st, the house is fully decorated, Christmas music is playing on repeat and my kitchen has never been busier. I am loving this crazy season and I love sharing all these wonderful treats that will make your holiday table so festive!
The holidays can definitely be stressful and exhausting, but my goal this year is to take it all in, enjoy the busy and cherish all the time with family and friends. One of my favorite holiday parties that my sister and I host together is our Annual Cookie Exchange. We gather our girlfriends together for a fun evening of wine drinking, chatting and sharing our favorite cookie recipe. I still haven't decided which cookie I will share this year, but after sharing a month full of cookies with you, I am sure to find my favorite!
Lets start with this one, Molasses Blossom Cookies. Soft, chewy and sugar coated is the perfect combination for a festive cookie. The flavors are exactly what a molasses cookie should be, but kissed with chocolate to make it extra special.
Molasses Blossom Cookie

Ingredients
- ¾ Cup Unsalted Butter
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup Molasses
- 1 Egg
- 2 ¼ Cup All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 Tbsp Ginger
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Salt
- 36 Chocolate Kisses
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- In a medium bowl combine the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt; set aside
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy
- Scrape down the sides and continue mixing
- Add the molasses and egg to the butter mixture and beat on medium until all ingredients are combined
- Add in dry ingredients and mix just until all ingredients have come together and smooth
- Move the dough into an airtight container and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight
- Scoop the dough into 1" balls and roll each dough ball in granulated sugar
- Place the cookie dough balls on the lined baking sheet
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes
- Remove the pan from the oven and immediately place the chocolate kisses in the middle of each cookie (gently press down to create an indention)
- Allow the cookies and chocolate to cool for about 30 minutes before serving
