Cooking Tips and FAQS For Baked Tortilla Chips
Brush or Spray Oil
Make sure to not over oil the tortillas so that they will be crisp! I love using Pure Avocado Oil Spray so that there is a light mist over all the tortilla hearts, but you can brush each tortilla with oil before cutting into the desired shape as well.
Storing Homemade Baked Tortilla Chips
Once the tortilla chips are cooled, store them in a large ziplock bag for up to 3 days for the freshest flavor.
Pure corn tortillas are naturally gluten free, so be sure to look at the ingredients and grab the tortillas that 100% corn.
If you add to much oil to the tortillas they will not crisp up. Once they are baked, place them on a paper towel to soak up any extra oil and this will help keep them crisp.

A zillion thank yous for this recipe. I needed something for a Valentine's Day potluck tomorrow and had very little time and energy to make something tonight. These took no time, taste great, and are so cute. I'll serve them with a super easy red kidney bean dip. You have saved the day.

Can these be frozen? If so, for how long? My daughter is getting married in September and we would like to have a seven layer dip in little small cups with heart-shaped tortilla chips.
Kristen Massad says
I have not frozen these chips and would be worried they would lose their crisp. Might be best to make fresh!
