The Best Lebanese Mezze Platter is going to be your new favorite party appetizer. The most colorful and flavorful platter filled with traditional Lebanese dips like hummus and baba ganoush, paired with veggies, marinated olives and pita bread.

It wouldn't be a party without a little Mezze! Mezze means "appetizer" in the greek or middle eastern cuisine and honestly the best way to eat. We love to serve Mezze if it is just our family or a large gathering because there is a variety of flavors that can be enjoyed by all!

There is nothing better than the Lebanese Cuisines with all the fresh veggies, beautiful dips and spreads, amazing cheese, pita bread, the most delicious marinated olives and always the freshest herbs. It is a simple and healthy way to eat that kids and adults both love. Adding all of these ingredients to a platter to share will bring you so much joy!

How To Build The Perfect Mezze Platter

Whether you are serving for two or twelve, variety is key when building a Mezze platter. There are so many wonderful Mediterranean flavors that can be added to this platter to be sure that every guest can find something they love.

Dips & Spreads- Dips and spreads are a very popular part of the Lebanese cuisine. Homemade or store bought, Hummus, a traditional chickpea dip, Baba Ganoush, a delicious eggplant dip and Labneh is a thick and creamy yogurt spread that has the consistency of cream cheese.

Veggies- Sliced fresh veggies are a great addition to your platter and can be enjoyed with all three dips. Sliced or ribboned cucumbers, pickled turnips, fresh sliced radishes and pickles are a few of my favorites that add a variety of flavor and color.

Cheese- Majdoul means "braided" is a Lebanese String Cheese that is braided and has a very mild flavor and Labneh Balls are made from strained yogurt that is shaped into a ball and stored in olive oil!

Stuffed Grape Leaves or Dolmas- The Lebanese stuffed grape leave is filled with rice and spiced ground beef or the greek Dolmas are typically served cold and filled with just rice.

Marinated Olives- A combination of Kalamata and green olives marinated in olive oil, herbs, lemon rind and lemon juice!

Bread-Pita bread is yeast leavened flat bread that is baked in a round shape and is perfect for dipping

Crispy Chickpeas-Roasted chickpeas that can store bought or homemade add the perfect crunch as a topper to the creamy hummus dip

Spices-Zatar is one of my favorite lebanese spices that can be added to every dish, but I love to sprinkle it on the top of the labneh for extra flavor.

Herbs and Garnish-Adding fresh mint and rosemary to the platter will add a wonderful aroma and for the holiday season I love adding a quarter of a pomegranate for color!

Tips and FAQS To Make A Mezze Platter

Where Do You Buy The Ingredients?

The best place to find authentic Lebanese ingredients will be at a Mediterranean Market. Some traditional grocery store will have some of these items but look for a local market that specialized in the Mediterranean Cuisines. In Dallas, Sara's Market Bakery is my favorite place to shop!

Can I Make This In Advance?

I Love to prepare my board several hours in advance to be sure that it is ready when my guests arrive.

Add Your Favorites- If there is something specific you love from the Lebanese Cuisine, add it to your platter. The best part is that there is really no recipe and you can be creative!
