The most delicious and creamy Dairy Free Almond Banana Smoothie tastes like an almond joy candy bar in a smoothie. A healthy smoothie that is ready is less than 5 minutes and made with almond butter, frozen bananas, coconut water, almond milk, dates for sweetness and your favorite protein powder.

I am really in a smoothie phase and I am loving it. It is the perfect breakfast or midday healthy snack that is full of protein and tastes like a treat. There are so many awesome smoothies that we rotate through, like our very favorite Blueberry Protein Smoothie or Easy Strawberry Cream Smoothie, but I am really loving the rich and nutty flavor that this Almond Banana Smoothie has.
The Dairy Free Almond Banana Smoothie is not full of fruit like many of our other smoothies that we love so much, but only made with one banana, creamy almond butter, dates for sweetness, protein powder and coconut water and almond milk.
Ingredient Notes
Almond Butter- I love using a creamy almond butter that is not mixed with a lot of other ingredients. One of my favorite is Trader Joes Almond Butter!
Banana- A frozen banana will be needed for this smoothie, but if you don't have a banana already frozen and you are wanting this smoothie asap, go ahead and add ice cubes to the ingredients to make this this and cold.
Dates-Fresh and pitted dates are a great natural way to add sweetness to a smoothie. These are always great to keep on hand and in the fridge.
Protein Powder- Choose your favorite protein powder or collagen powder to add to any smoothie. I love Vital Proteins Collagen Powder for an extra boost for your skin and protein at the same time.
Cinnamon-Adding cinnamon is completely optional but I love the additional that cinnamon adds to the banana and almond flavor.
Almond Milk- I love adding a vanilla almond milk to this smoothie for a little extra flavor, but plain will also work. Nut Pods is my go to for almond milk and it adds such a delicious flavor to this smoothie.
Coconut Water- Adding a little tropical flavor and also extra hydration, coconut water is a great addition. If you don't have coconut water you can just add extra almond milk.

Tips and FAQS To Make The Best Smoothies
Make Ahead and Save For Later
Here is the best part about making smoothie, you can make a double batch and enjoy one now and then save the other smoothies in the freezer for the next day. This will make clean up only one time instead two. I also love to make smoothies in the morning and have them ready for carpool line during school days. Just allow the smoothie to sit out at room temperature for 30-45 minutes.
No problem, just add a fresh banana and add about 1 cup of ice cubes to the blender to create a thick, creamy and cold consistency.
Yes! If you are not a fan of coconut water or just don't have it on hand, you can add the same amount of almond milk to the blender. It will still taste great.
Yes! This Almond Banana Smoothie is gluten free and dairy free!
