Starting your day with the perfect blend of flavors and nutrients can set the tone for a productive and energized day. Our Rise and Shine Coffee Smoothie is crafted to give you the essential morning boost you need. Packed with the rich taste of coffee, sweet bananas, the nutty creaminess of almond, the smoothness of almond milk and a protein boost with vanilla protein powder. This smoothie is a delightful and healthy way to kickstart your morning!

Whether you love smoothies for a morning healthy breakfast, a midday snack or even a late night protein packed dessert, this coffee smoothie or our popular Vitamin C Immunity Smoothie will do the trick!

    Ingredient Notes

A glass filled with coffee, a glass filled with almond milk, a bowl filled with almond butter, a small bowl filled with ground cinnamon and two yellow bananas.

    Coffee
One cup brewed coffee chilled in the refrigerator or for a time saver, cold brew coffee is a great alternative.

    Bananas
Frozen bananas will give this smoothie a nice thick and creamy texture and an additional sweet flavor. If you don't have frozen bananas you can use fresh and just add a few more ice cubes.

    Almond Butter
Choose a natural, smooth and creamy almond butter. I love using Justins Almond Butter but choose your favorite.

    Almond Milk
Almond milk keeps this smoothie a dairy free option and I love using NutPods French Vanilla Almond Milk for a creamy texture. You can also use cows milk or coconut milk as an alternative to almond milk.

    Vanilla Protein Powder
My go to is Roots Vanilla Protein Powder, but you can you whatever you have on hand that is your favorite!

    Cinnamon and Vanilla Extract
Adding an extra touch of flavor, I love adding cinnamon and vanilla extract into this coffee smoothie.

How to Make The Best Coffee Smoothie

Three drink glasses filled with a light brown smoothie, cinnamon dussted on top and a silver straw.

    Prepare the Coffee
Brew your favorite coffee and let it chill in the refrigerator. If you prefer using a cold brew, this will work great as well and can save you the chill time.

    Blend Ingredients
In a blender, combine the coffee, frozen bananas, almond butter, almond milk, protein powder, cinnamon, vanilla extract and ice cubes. Blend on high speed until the ingredients are fully combined and smooth and creamy.

    Serve
Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately. If you are not going to drink right away, place the glass in the freezer until ready to serve.

Tips for the Best Coffee Smoothie

    Make it a Mocha
If you love the flavor of a mocha, add chocolate protein powder instead of vanilla. You won't be disappointed!

    Frozen Bananas
When ever my bananas start to turn to brown I immediately peel them and place them in a bag in the freezer so I always have frozen bananas on hand for this smoothie. If you don't have frozen bananas you can alway use fresh and add more ice cubes for the thick frosty consistency.

    Make it Sweeter
The bananas will add a hint of sweetness to this smoothie, but if you prefer it a little bit sweeter you can always add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup.

    Boost Nutrients
Add in a handful of spinach or a scoop of chia seeds for added nutrients. These two ingredients will not change the flavor but they will enhance the nutrients.
