You will never make another dinner roll again and if you have never made dinner rolls before, you will make these all the time! My family is obsessed, we make them all the time and they are the first thing on the table to go. Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls are going to be your new favorite recipe to make and share with your friends. Made with my favorite Rhodes Frozen Rolls, softened butter, garlic, fresh herbs and sprinkled with sea salt. Your guests will think they are homemade and took you hours, but little do they know you made them in no time at all!

    Simple Ingredients You Will Need

    Frozen Dinner Rolls
I have loved using the brand Rhodes Rolls for years. They come in a large bag and the rolls are frozen into small balls of dough. These rolls need to thaw, rise and bake so give yourself enough time to make these (approximately 2-3 hours).

    Butter
Unsalted butter is what I love to use so that I can add the amount of salt that I want to the rolls. The butter will need to be melted or softened before using.

    Garlic
Fresh garlic chopped very fine will mix into the butter mixture.

    Herbs
A combination of herbs is what makes these rolls so tasty and look like the spring season. I love adding rosemary and thyme but you can add any other herb you love.

Step-by-Step Directions To Make Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls

A tray of frozen white dough balls covered in an herb butter.

    Prepare the Garlic Herb Butter

    • In a small sauce pan combine the butter, garlic and herbs and cook on low heat until the butter is melted

    Prep The Rolls

    • Remove the dough balls from the freezer and place them in the baking dish or sheet pan that you wish to bake your rolls in.
    • Toss the frozen dough balls into the garlic herb butter until fully coated and then place on the parchment line baking sheet about 1-2 inches apart
    • Sprinkle course sea salt onto the top of each dough ball
    • Cover the frozen dough balls with a piece of plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise for 2-3 hours or until doubled in size

Bake the Garlic and Herb Rolls

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
    • Bake the rolls in a preheated oven for fifteen minutes or until the rolls are a light golden brown color on top
    • Once the dinner rolls are baked, remove the rolls from the oven and brush the remaining garlic herb butter on top of the rolls, finish with another sprinkle of course sea salt
    • Serve warm or at room temperature!

Tips To Make Easy Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls

Can I make homemade dinner rolls and use this recipe?

Yes! If you are ambitious and want to make homemade dinner rolls you can still use the same garlic, herb and butter mixture to make these amazing rolls.

Can I freeze the Garlic Herb Dinner Rolls?

I recommend freezing the uncooked dough balls and then baking them when you are ready, but once the dinner rolls are baked it is best to enjoy them warm or even the next day!

What if I can't find Rhodes Rolls?

You can use any frozen dinner rolls that still needs to be baked. Do not buy the pre-baked dinner rolls.

Why did my rolls take longer to rise (double in size)?

The temperature of your house can cause the dough to rise faster or slower. So if yourself some extra time just in case the dough takes a little longer to rise than you expected.
