The base of simple syrup is made with two ingredients, but can be infused with fruits, herbs, spices and so much more.

Ingredients
Granulated Sugar-The perfect amount of sweet comes from this simple syrup because of the granulated sugar. You don't want to substitute any other sugar for granulated sugar.
Water-Equal parts water to sugar is the key to making the perfect syrup.
Spices- You can definitely add your favorite fall spices, but I am loving the combination of cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves and whole allspice.
Directions
- In a small sauce pan combine the granulated sugar and water
- Add the cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves and whole all spice into the sugar water combination
- On medium heat, bring the sugar, water and spices to a simmer until all the sugar is dissolved and has slightly thickened
- Remove the Spiced Simple Syrup from the stove and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before pouring it into a jar to store it.
- Pour the syrup into a jar and refrigerate until ready to use

Ingredients
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 Whole Star Anise
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Whole Allspice
Instructions
