Cooler weather, fall sports and heading into the holiday season are just a few of my favorite things and the only way to make them better is a fun and festive cocktail! September is all about apples and I am having so much fun eating, baking and sipping on all of my favorite including this Apple Cider Aperol Spritz and our family favorite Apple Cinnamon Crumb Cake!

Bourbon Apple Cider Fizz is a super light and refreshing cocktail that is made with spiced apple cider but still really focuses on the bourbon! I am a new lover of bourbon and this cocktail and this Maple Bourbon Sour are my go to fall drinks to enjoy and share with family and friends!

How To Make Bourbon Apple Cider Fizz

Three glasses filled with bourbon, apple cider, simple syrup and sparkling water and garnished with a cinnamon stick and apples slice.

    Ingredients

Bourbon- Choose your favorite bourbon for this cocktail!
Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup-Using three ingredients, this will sweeten your cocktail and add a delicious vanilla flavor. Made with sugar, vanilla and a fresh vanilla bean.
Lemon Juice- Fresh squeezed lemon juice is the only way to go!
Apple Cider- Store bought or homemade apple cider will be a perfect fall addition to this fizzy cocktail. I love using Spiced Apple Cider to add more fall flavors.

    Directions

    • Fill a cocktail glass with ice and add the bourbon, vanilla bean simple syrup, lemon juice and apple cider and gently stir to combine
    • Fill the remainder of the glass with sparkling water
    • Garnish with apple slices, fresh thyme sprigs and a cinnamon stick
    • Serve Immediately! Enjoy!

How To Make Fancy Ice Cubes

A gray ice cube tray filled with water and fresh thyme leaves.

A fun addition to every cocktail, fancy ice cubes! I love these flexible ice cube trays that are clean and easy to fill and pop out to use. Add your favorite herbs or flowers to make your next cocktail extra fancy. To pair with bourbon and apple cider, just add a sprig fresh thyme to each of the section before freezing and then add to your Bourbon Apple Cider Fizz.

Tips To Making Fun Fall Cocktails

    Simple Syrup
A great way to sweeten up your cocktail, Simple Syrup is made of granulated sugar and water, simmered together until the sugar is dissolved to create a smooth syrup. Adding different flavors to your syrups will enhance your cocktails and make for super fun creations!

    Fancy Ice Cubes
Fill your ice cube trays with fresh herbs, flowers or fruit to add a super fancy touch to each cocktail!

    Garnish
The garnish might be as fun as sipping on the cocktail! I love adding extra touches to make each sip a little more special. Dried apples slices will add a beautiful touch to each glass, paired with a fresh herb sprig and a cinnamon stick for more fall flavor!

    What Makes This a Fizz?

The addition of sparkling water is the key to the fizz! This will lighten the cocktail and add some bubbles!

Can I Make This For a Crowd?

YES!! Grab your favorite punch bowl and double, triple or quadruple the ingredients and you are ready for a party!
