How To Make The Perfect Ice Cream Sundae Bar

Summer is for enjoying the outdoors, indulging in cold treats and a lot of family entertaining. An ice cream sundae bar is a great way to be creative with fun flavors and enjoy a cold treat on a warm summer day. Enjoy childhood breakfast favorites for dessert while creating three of our favorite Ice Cream Sundae combinations using Froot Loops®, Eggo® Homestyle Waffles and Pop-Tarts® S'Mores.

Ingredients

Froot Loops®-Colorful and crisp cereal makes for the perfect addition to any ice cream sundae or is great to garnish a waffle cone.
Pop-Tarts® Frosted Strawberry-Sandwiched together with vanilla ice cream, fresh fruit or cut up into small pieces and enjoyed as a topping for an ice cream sundae. 
Pop-Tarts® S'Mores - Rich chocolate filling and a decadent chocolate pastry is the perfect addition to a festive s'more ice cream sandwich. Loaded with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, mini marshmallows and rainbow sprinkles for fun.
Eggo® Minis Homestyle Waffles- Mini waffles make the perfect ice cream sandwiches filled with vanilla ice cream and rolled in rainbow sprinkles.  
Eggo® Homestyle Waffles- The large waffles can be slightly toasted and then shaped into a sweet and delicious ice cream taco.
Ice Cream - The best part about an ice cream sundae party is you get to choose your favorite ice cream flavor. Go classic with vanilla or chocolate or go extra with cookies and cream, strawberry, or caramel swirl.
Rainbow Sprinkles- There is no living without rainbow sprinkles. These jimmies add so much color and make everything a little bit more fun.
Chocolate Sauce- Add a drizzle of chocolate sauce to all of your creations and your will be in for a real treat. Make your own or buy it from your local market. 
Whipped Cream-Fresh whipped cream in the perfect addition to your sundae bar. Make your own fresh whipped cream with heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar or by a can of store bough whipped cream.
Maraschino Cherries- Bringing back memories of being a kid, these ruby red cherries are a beautiful and tasty garnish.
Chopped Nuts - Pecans, walnuts, peanuts or hazelnuts, the salty addition of nuts pairs well with ice cream.
Marshmallows- Have fun and make your favorite s'mores combination using pop tarts and chocolate ice cream.
Waffle Cones or Waffle Bowls - There is no such thing as ice cream without a cone. Small waffle cones or waffle cone bowls are the perfect vessel to create a delicious ice cream sundae.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Froot Loops® Ice Cream Sundae

Using an ice cream sundae bowl or a waffle cone bowl, scoop 3-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream into the bowl

Warm the chocolate sauce until smooth, drizzle the sauce over the ice cream

Layer the ice cream scoops with Froot Loops® cereal

Garnish the top of the ice cream with a large dollop of whipped cream

Add rainbow sprinkles and a maraschino cherry to the top of the whipped cream

Enjoy immediately

Eggo® Homestyle Waffles Ice Cream Tacos

Lightly toast home style waffles and allow them to cool completely

Scoop two vanilla ice cream balls into the center of each waffle

Gently fold the waffle to create a taco around the ice cream 

Garnish with sliced fresh strawberries, rainbow sprinkles, fresh whipped cream and a cherry 

Pop-Tarts® S'Mores Ice Cream Sandwich

Using two pop tarts, lay one on a plate with the frosting up and set the second one aside 

Scoop two chocolate ice cream balls onto the pop tart 

Drizzle with chocolate sauce 

Sprinkle with mini marshmallows and rainbow sprinkles

Top with the remaining pop tart and gently press down to sandwich the ice cream together

Serve immediately, Enjoy!  

Recipe Variations

Ice Cream- Bring in your favorite flavors and make sure there are options for kids and adults. I love caramel, swirl, mint chocolate chip, or cookie dough.

Toppings -The skies the limit with topping on an ice cream sundae bar. Sweet, salty, nutty and sour are all the flavors that can be enjoyed in ice cream and I am here for all of them.

Sauces - Homemade Caramel Sauce would add a salty and creamy flavor to your ice cream sundae

Add Fresh Fruit- When the weather is warm I crave fresh fruit and this is a perfect way to enjoy fresh sliced strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or raspberries
