It is the first day of October and I am so excited for all the fun that comes with this fall season! The halloween planning has begun and I am looking forward to the costumes, the snacks and the parties to celebrate. This month is all about the sweets and treats and we are fully embracing this year by adding in some bright pinks to the traditional orange and black when creating the perfect Halloween Candy Board, Halloween Chocolate Bark and Cookie Critters. This three ingredient chocolate bark is so quick and easy to make and is perfect for your halloween parties, to gift your favorite friends and neighbors or can be the perfect teacher gift.

To add to your celebration, mix up our favorite Halloween Snack Mix and balance the sweet with some fruits and veggies with our Halloween Snack Board.

    Easy Halloween Chocolate Bark

One of my absolute favorite quick and easy desserts that will be enjoyed by kids and adults is chocolate bark. There is truly no exact recipe but can be customized to your liking. This Halloween Chocolate Bark is super festive made with dark and white chocolate and all the spooky and sweet candy. Throwing in some pinks with the traditional orange and black halloween colors is a great way to change things up this holiday season.

    Ingredients

A close up of a candy platter, next two two oreos dipped in chocolate with eyeballs.

Semi Sweet Chocolate-Choose your favorite semi sweet chocolate to melt as the base of the bark. If you prefer dark chocolate or milk chocolate, this can be used instead.
    White Chocolate-
For the perfect swirls and some additional layering, white chocolate is a great addition to all bark. If you are not a fan of white chocolate, just remove this step from the recipe.
    Coconut Oil-
Adding coconut oil into the chocolate while it is melting will help to create a thin and smooth texture that will spread easily. Coconut oil will also help the chocolate harden faster and thicker.
    Candy
-Be creative! Throw in all of your favorite halloween treats to make this a fun and festive bark. Salty and sweet options are great!

    Directions

    • In a small microwave safe bowl combine the semi sweet chocolate and 1 tablespoon coconut oil
    • Melt for 30 second increments until fully melted and smooth
    • Spread the melted chocolate on a prepare baking sheet pan; set aside while melting the white chocolate but make sure the chocolate is still soft
    • In another small microwave safe bowl combine the white chocolate and 1 tablespoon coconut oil
    • Melt for 30 second increments until fully melted and smooth
    • Drizzle or spread the white chocolate on top of the semi sweet chocolate and swirl around with a toothpick
    • Add the candy pieces and decorate the top of the melted chocolate while still soft
    • Allow the chocolate to cool and harden completely at room temperature or place the sheet pan in the refrigerator to set the chocolate quicker

Tips To Create The Perfect Halloween Candy Board

    • Choose a variety of candy options with all different textures. Sweet candy corn, sour rings, marshmallow pumpkins, gummy teeth , scary eyeball gum balls and candy eyeballs are a few of my favorites!
    • I am loving all the pastel colors that go along with the halloween theme. Adding pink in with orange and black is a fun and festive alternative for the season.
    • Adding some kid friendly Halloween Cookie Critters is a fun addition that can be enjoyed while walking around and trick or treating! I love that they are on a stick!
    • Throw in our favorite Halloween Snack Mix and a fruit and veggie filled Halloween Snack Board to add to your table.
