Helpful Tips and FAQS To Make The Best Rice Krispie Treats
Fresh Ingredients
When making Rice Krispie Treats, make sure to always check the expiration date of your marshmallows. Expired marshmallows will create a very gummy texture that will not taste great!
Cutting Rice Krispie Treats
The best part about making bars is that you can cut them into any shape and size that you want. I love a thick square, but you can cut these into any easter shape or even bite size squares for large group.
Storage
Once the Easter treats are cooled, you can wrap them in the pan before cutting and keep them at room temperature for 3-4 days. If they are already cut, wrap each individually in plastic wrap and place them in an airtight container to stay fresh.
I love thick rice Krispie treats so I use a 9x9 square pan, but you can use a 9x13 pan and spread them out for a thinner and smaller treat.
Malted milk powder is made from evaporated milk, barley and wheat and is best known to make Malted Milkshakes. This powder gives an extra flavor boost and adds a creamy, milky and slight nutty flavor. Because it is made with wheat and barley, malted milk powder is not gluten free.
Yes! These Rice Krispie Treats are delicious without the Malted Milk Powder, but even better with it! The powder will add a delicious sweet and nutty flavor that you get when you eat chocolate malt balls.
Wrap the rice Krispie treat in plastic wrap or store in an airtight container for up 3-4 days.
Yes! Rice Krispie Treats freeze great if you layer them with parchment paper in an airtight container or ziplock bag. When you are ready to serve them, remove them from the freezer and allow them to sit out at room temperature for at least one hour.
When you are pouring the treats into the pan, spray the spatula with non stick spray and then use a piece of parchment paper to press the Rice Krispie Treats down to spread evenly with no mess.
